It seems every day we are confronted with a story in the news that reflects an undeniable reality. We are living in a very confused world. This fact of our world being confused weighs on all of us in more ways than we realize. We carry a sense of uncertainty in the future of our country, of our way of life and of the world our children will grow up in.
One of the biggest narratives taking a forefront in today’s culture is that gender is not binary, that men can be women, and women can be men. Riley Gaines, the professional swimmer who competed against Lia Thomas, was laughed at by a college professor for suggesting that there is a structural difference between males and females. At another recent college speaking engagement, Gaines was assaulted by trans activists after standing up for women and speaking out against trans women in sports.
In a world that no longer stands behind the universal truth that men are men and women are women, our children are the most affected. When the lines between good and evil, right and wrong, and lies and truth are blurred in the minds of our children, there is no foundation that they can build their worldview on so they are easy prey to harmful ideas.
Eph 4:14 “so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”
A foundation of lies will inevitably crumble and fall but the truth will always prevail. If society refuses to recognize the truth, we must make it irrefutable through the example we set for our future generations. At BRAVE, we believe in taking the narrow road and using the podium we have been given to use our voices and our reach to further the mission of equipping parents and families with the resources they need to come against these dangerous narratives.

While culture is teaching kids that truth is subjective and open for interpretation, at BRAVE we believe that it is imperative to provide our children with the tools they need to think critically and discover the real truth. These elements are beautifully outlined in our book, Son of Truth. This book is an invaluable resource for families to teach children what they may not be learning in school or elsewhere.
If we can guide children through the process of learning to identify these false narratives when they hear them, they will become aware and ready to combat the lies thrown at them.
