Creative Writer

BRAVE Books, a Christian, conservative children’s book publishing company, is seeking a creative writer. This role is part of the on-site creative team at BRAVE in Conroe, TX. You will be developing and writing stories for an existing series, as well as for brand-new children’s series and worlds the creative team builds.
In 2021, we created Freedom Island with a host of characters and stories along the way. We are on a subscription model, where every month subscribers receive one new children’s picture book for ages 4-12. We release a new book every month. Candidates interested in writing children’s picture books and/or middle-grade novels and who meet the following qualifications are welcome to apply.
You Have:
- A passion for equipping the next generation with a strong moral foundation (traditional American values and critical thinking skills).
- Experience writing engaging stories and can provide samples.
- A good understanding of story structure.
- Met deadlines in the past and are well organized.
- A history of working well with others.
You Will:
- Collaborate on stories, topics, ideas, characters, and projects with a team.
- Brainstorm future books, topics, characters, storylines, and worlds within and outside of Freedom Island.
- Help develop and write stories that teach conservative and biblical values to the next generation of Americans.
- Give feedback on stories, book illustrations, products, projects, and processes.
- Take feedback from others to revise and improve stories
- Write out storyboards

- Create notes for book illustrations
