Middle Grade Novel Writer

BRAVE Books, a conservative Children’s book publishing company, is looking for creative middle-grade writers. Stories would take place in our world of Freedom Island and have recurring characters. Stories would also typically range between 18,000 - 20,000 words. This position requires someone who can collaborate with our internal team. 

In 2021, we created Freedom Island with a host of characters and stories along the way. We are on a subscription model, where every month subscribers receive one new children’s picture book for ages 4-12.  We will have 5 sagas (or volumes) that have 10 books each. In 2025, we will release our middle-grade novels that kids are able to transition to. We will release one book/month that is about a Christian, conservative value. 

What You’ll Do:

• Become well-familiarized with the Freedom Island universe.
• Be well-familiarized with story structure.
• Be organized and able to meet deadlines.
• Be able to complete three to four stories a year.
• Work closely with the creative team on outlines for middle-grade novels.
• Write quality outlines and drafts.
