The Sunders have learned to love the shadows. In the dark, the grime doesn’t look so bad. The mess doesn’t feel so real. Everything is fine.
That is, until a new Sunder arrives. One who shines light into every corner, reveals what’s been hidden, and calls them to something better.
Now they have to make a decision. Run to the light and be made clean… or reject it and crawl back into the dark.
The Day That Made the Way is a powerful Gospel allegory about sin, rescue, and the moment everything changed.

"Melissa, thank you for writing this book. I get really frustrated every year that Easter is 90% candy, 10% Jesus. I'm grateful for this book because it helped me teach my kids the true meaning of Easter, but it can be read any time. It conveys the gospel in a fun imaginative way, but also very clearly. It was very true to Scripture. Thank you for this helpful resource in shaping our children's faith."
"I found it to be a gentle and brilliant story and I've turned its pages five times. Plus Hats off to Jessica Clark for her sad but real creature illustrations. I am not age 4 to 8 but 71 and I would have loved it then as much as now! Words that live! Brilliant."
"Blessed be the name of the Lord , very creative book of the Gospel of Jesus ( the Lord Jesus blessed you with much talent ) Psalm 9"
"I appreciated the story line and the ease with which the pages flowed. I used this book in my midweek kids church class. The kids enjoyed it and understood thw correlation between the characters and Jesus, us, sin, darkness, light etc. Well done!"
"Love the book. As soon as I heard Melissa talk about her book I knew I was going to get it for my grandsons, I love her shows I watch them on YouTube. She is very smart!!"
"I’ve followed Melissa on YouTube for several years and her content has been a tremendous blessing to me. I purchased a Brave membership because of this book and I’m so glad I did! All of the books we’ve received have been excellent and this one was no exception. It was very engaging for my kids ages 7, 5, and 2. It teaches Gospel truths in a way that my young children can easily understand. They absolutely loved it and ask to read it over and over."
"I pre-ordered this book and upon review, I wasn’t sure my grandson’s, aged 3 & 5, would like it. In a home where their parents dont take them to church nor talk to them much about God, sharing Jesus has been challenging at times. While visiting this Easter evening, I had opportunity to read to them before bed. They just loved this story. The illustration inspired some lively ideas about the characters and amazingly the concept of light and darkness, clean and dirty was understandable to them! I loved it that i could emphasize that the characters had a choice! It really filled my heart with joy to see their eyes light up as they followed the story line to the end. I pray that as it continues to be read, the concept of salvation will continue to take root in their hearts!"
"This book is wonderful! I got it for my 3 year old, and we read it multiple times on Easter. It’s a sweet story that helps to present the message of Easter in a way that is accessible to little ones, and the art is beautiful!"
"Great book, Melissa! My 4 year old daughter absolutely loves it, and we've read it almost every day since we got it. We got the plushie too, and she loves her little Sunder 💕"
